The City of Portland Family Shelter serves 150-200 people on most nights. A majority are immigrant families, most of home are seeking asylum in the United States from African countries. Our grant will be used to buy school supplies and clothing for children in the shelter.

The Maine Children's Alliance is a public policy nonprofit that improves the lives of Maine children, youth, and families through research, collaboration, and advocacy. it focuses primarily on early care and education;; child health and hunger; and family economic security.
